Standard vs XL Driveshaft Cable: Choosing Your Length

Published November 1, 2026

Choosing between Standard and XL starts with the distance the cable needs to span on your own setup. Vehicle category alone does not establish the required length or fit.

What is different about XL?

The Driveshaft Cable XL is listed at 60 inches long, with a green body and a 5/32-inch cable diameter. The Standard Driveshaft Cable also uses a 5/32-inch cable diameter. Check each product page for its current dimensions and specifications.

Extra length is a selection option, not a vehicle-specific fit guarantee. Measure the distance the cable needs to cover on your setup and compare it with the listed product dimensions. If the available length is unclear for your application, contact us before ordering.

A short buying checklist

  • Identify the cable length required for your setup using the full driveshaft tie-up instructions.
  • Compare the dimensions on the Standard and XL product pages.
  • Count how many cables of each length you need.
  • Review the minimum-order total and current quantity pricing before adding items to your cart.

This buying guide does not replace the vehicle manufacturer's towing procedures or the full tie-up instructions. Check routing, retention and clearance before towing.

How the order quantities work

Standard and XL each start at 10 cables and are ordered in increments of 10 per length. Their quantities are priced separately. Ten Standard cables plus ten XL cables is an order of 20 cables; it does not create a 20-cable pricing tier for either length.

The shop applies volume pricing automatically. Use the current product-page prices for your selected quantity. Dealer, fleet and special-order questions can go through the quote page.

Both lengths are single-use

Cut off and discard a cable after each job. Do not reuse it or use a damaged cable. The listed 3,000 lb breaking strength is not a working load limit.

See our single-use cable stocking guide for planning supplies, or shop Standard and XL cables to compare current availability.
